The Canadian Association of Geographers held their Annual Meeting at Memorial University between August 11-15, 2013. Over 300 delegates from across the country and abroad travelled to St. John’s to present their research findings in Geography, Sociology, Urban Planning, and more. A presentation entitled Philanthropy: A Saviour to Regional Development in Rural Areas? was given by Josh Barrett and Ryan Gibson to finish off the two-day Canadian Regional Development special session.
